I tested with v1.4 and happened as same as your screenshot posted here and when i mouseover object name on itemlist or scene both displays tooltip.
I hope this help you to find problem.

Thankyou! But about the other situations where it was crashing, does it crash with 1.4? I mean, normal mouse over when the fixture is in the view.

No, I normal mouseover on view scene fixture and its not crashed.
